Google Analytics is one of those must-have tools when running a website. The tasks of tracking traffic sources, browser versions, search terms, etc. are all made easy. The developers of DotNetNuke have also made using Google Analytics on a DotNetNuke website simple.
The only piece of information needed is a Google Analytics tracking ID. To get started, you will need to register your website with Google Analytics. Navigate tohttp://www.google.com/analytics and select “Create an Account”. You will be walked through creating your analytics account.
Once your account is created, log in to the account and select “Admin” in the top right corner. You will find the tracking ID for your website on the second tab. The tracking ID will look like this:
Tracking ID
UA-nnnnnnnn-1
That is all you need from Google. You will not need the scripts which Google Analytics provides because that has already been done for you in DotNetNuke.
Login to your DNN website as an administrator. Navigate to the admin section and find the icon labeled Google Analytics.
Place your tracking ID in the appropriate box, click Update, and you are up and running with Google Analytics.
